Elevated Flare System for Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries

Introduction

Customized Elevated Flare Systems for Safe Waste Gas Combustion

Zexuan provides customized elevated flare systems designed for safe combustion of waste gas, relief gas and emergency vent gas from industrial processes.
Elevated flare systems are widely used in oil & gas production facilities, refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG terminals and chemical industries where reliable gas disposal is required for safe plant operation.
With engineering capabilities covering process design, mechanical design, fabrication and commissioning support, Zexuan delivers complete flare solutions according to project requirements, gas composition and operating conditions.

What is an Elevated Flare System?

An elevated flare system is a combustion device installed on a vertical flare stack to burn combustible gases released during normal operation, startup, shutdown or emergency conditions.
The flare tip is positioned at an elevated height to provide safe dispersion of combustion products, reduce radiation exposure and protect surrounding equipment and personnel.
Depending on gas flow rate, plant layout and project requirements, elevated flare systems can be designed with different support structures including self-supported flare stacks, guyed wire flares and derrick-supported flares.

Types of Elevated Flare Systems

1. Self Supported Flare

Self-supported flare stacks are free-standing structures without external guy wires.
They are suitable for small and medium height applications where space limitation and simple installation are required.

2. Guyed Wire Flare

Guyed wire flare systems use guy cables to support tall flare stacks.
They provide a cost-effective solution for large height requirements in oil fields, gas processing plants and industrial facilities.

3. Derrick Supported Flare

Derrick-supported flare systems are designed for large capacity applications requiring high flare elevation.
They are commonly used in refineries, petrochemical complexes and LNG projects with large gas handling requirements.

Design Considerations

Gas Composition

Flare design depends on methane, hydrogen, hydrocarbons and other combustible components.

Flow Capacity

Maximum flare load determines flare tip size and stack design.

Radiation Requirement

Radiation level affects flare height and location selection.

Noise Requirement

Steam-assisted and air-assisted flares require noise evaluation.
